Celebrate the Flag and Hometown Spirit on June 11
Main Street Fairmont and the Fairmont Farmer’s Market are partnering to host the Second Hometown Market, Saturday, June 11 from 10 AM to 3 PM on Monroe Street.
The 5K originally scheduled for this market has been canceled and the focus of this event will be to celebrate the flag and our Hometown Spirit.
In addition to seasonal produce, pottery, hand-made jewelry, stained glass items, clothing and gourmet treats available at the Hometown Market, we will also have special events and live music throughout the day.
10:30 AM - The FSU Academy for the Arts will preview their upcoming musical Matilda and entertain the crowd with spectacular vocal arrangements.
12:00 PM - The Boy Scouts of America will present the colors and open a special program honoring the Stars and Stripes. The Fairmont Rotary Club will provide highlights of their ongoing flag project.
1 PM - The Marion County Parks and Recreation Community Band will spend an hour at the market entertaining the crowd with a variety of patriotic music.
“We are excited to partner with the Fairmont Farmer’s Market, all of the entertainment, the Boy Scouts of America and the Fairmont Rotary Club to bring our second hometown market of the season to downtown Fairmont”, said Dan Swiger, Executive Director of Main Street Fairmont. “This event would not be possible without the partnership of all the entities mentioned above. We feel extremely grateful to live and work with such community-minded individuals.”
After the Hometown Market, we encourage everyone to have a relaxing meal at one of our local eateries then head over to Palatine Park to enjoy “Ladies’ Night featuring the music of Trish Toledo and Kendra Morris.
Start your day with the Hometown Market and end the evening across the river at Palatine Park! It’s a great way of enjoying a full day of free entertainment and fun!
