Main Street Fairmont, Palatine Park, and the City of Fairmont are celebrating Summer with plenty of activities and events throughout the month of June.
Saturday, June 5 - Kick off your day with a run through historic Fairmont and the Discover the Friendly City 5K at 9 AM. The race will begin at the mural at Palatine Park and runners will wind their way through Fairmont to end at the Feast of the Seven Fishes Mural, on Monroe Street. Arts in the Park Bring the family and join the Fairmont State University Studio Arts program at Palatine Park from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. Artists are offering ceramics demonstrations and free silkscreen tee-shirt printing (first-come-first-serve). Bring your chairs and enjoy the live music provided by the Fairmont State University Academy for the Arts students from 10:30-11 a.m.
The second Hometown Market will be held on June 5th, 10 AM to 3 PM in Downtown Fairmont with more than 25 vendors, live music, and a variety of activities including a puppet show courtesy of the Marion County Public Library and live music at noon by Tom and Fiddler Mike.
After the hometown market, enjoy dinner at one of our fine eateries and then head over to Palatine Park for a concert in the park. Saturday, June 5 enjoy the music of Slater Williams at 6 PM, followed by the Weary Space Wanderer at approximately 7 PM, Then cap your evening off with Big eyed Phish, a Dave Matthews cover band starting at approximately 8:30 PM. As always, concerts in the park are FREE!

COVID 19 sweat pants at the Hometown Garage Sale!
Thanks to the City of Fairmont, we've reserved the city parking garage for a one-day-only city-wide garage sale. Gates will open for the general public at 9 AM, and close at 2 PM. Come down and take advantage of some great deals on hard-to-find treasures.
