Thanks to contributions and support from our sponsors, volunteers, and Board of Directors, Main Street Fairmont has invested more than $10,000 in funds and volunteer hours to beautify the friendly city to date. Over the last year, Main Street Fairmont has purchased 66 new street banners welcoming visitors to Fairmont, contributed to the creation of the soon to be unveiled Feast of the Seven Fishes mural, painted the façade of one abandoned building, and conducted three city clean up days, with six more scheduled in 2021.

In 2021, we are looking to community-minded businesses and individuals to help us continue our efforts. This year, Main Street Fairmont will continue to beautify our historic downtown business district by expanding our flower basket program with your help. We hope to raise $5,000 to expand the flower basket program. Donations will fund the purchase of hardware for 22 new baskets and purchase plants and soil for 88 flower baskets throughout the downtown area. The additional funds will also further enhance the friendly city entrance by placing new flower baskets on Jackson Street from the bridge to the courthouse.
Suggested Beautify the Friendly City Sponsorship levels are:
$30.00 - Plant a basket
$60.00 - Plant a pole (2 baskets per pole)
$90.00 - Plant a street corner (plant 2 street corner baskets)
$150.00 - Plant a block (plants one side of a block)
$250.00 - Build a basket (funds the purchase of new hardware and flowers)
Donations may be made by individuals, companies, or in honor or memory of a loved one. All donors will be recognized on the Main Street Fairmont website and on a large banner placed at the entrance of the downtown area. Donations can be made on the Main Street Fairmont website at: https://www.mainstreetfairmont.org/flower-baskets or by contacting the Main Street Fairmont office at 304-366-0468.
